Chloe Vlahos is a writer, photographer and video artist based in Bristol.Her visual work seeks to explore themes around social class, belonging, and narratives of home. Central to her practice is the exploration of memory and how it is influenced in subtle ways by the said themes. Chloe seeks to create work that is quiet but textured – evoking a sense of remembering something you didn’t know you had forgotten.

Her experimental moving image films invite audiences to reflect on ways in which our memories and personal narratives become fragmented in the digital age. Three of her films were selected to feature in various international festivals, such as the UK Roughcut Film Festival, Canada's AltFF Alternative Film Festival and Italy's MAX3MIN Festival, and received nominations for ‘Best Film’ and ‘Best Cinematography.’She is also part of a team of Directors at the Real Photography Company @ St Paul’s Darkroom, offering workshops and courses in different analogue photography techniques to local residents.Published under the moniker Chloe Violette, Chloe also writes mindless musings: a newsletter comprised of journal-esque vignettes and reflections on what it means to be a woman in the world.
